Can change, change you?

I hate to say it, but I am not a sugar covered chocolate drop all the time. Usually, I learn things that I love to do, that I know will enhance my journey, but sometimes I have a hard time embracing change that was not started by me.

Let me, put it in perspective.

How I saw Change in the beginning

I got an email the other day, that the way I normally create podcast will be upended due to a new service provider they’ve teamed up with. While there is a lot of buzz surrounding using this new process to create podcast episodes, to those like me who have created a whole podcast life using the old system before the buyout, it may cause some slight distress. All the current pieces will need to be downloaded onto a computer or device and we will need to learn the new system in the next few months so that we won’t be left behind.

No one. Of course not.

Imagine your sitting at your desk at work and get a call from your boss….

They tell you that they are making changes to your already extensive process that you use at your job. This process took you years to learn, recreate, and digest and when you’ve finally figured out how to relax in that position, your boss advises you that they are taking it away.

They are giving you a short amount of time to get on board with the new program.

Yes, I know what your saying,

It won’t be easy to begin with, but after a while I’ll figure out the process.”

I get it.

I am supposed to invite change into my life eagerly.

And as I mature and grow, that will definitely be a goal, but right now I am just feeling some kind of way. And you know what, that’s okay. Feeling some type of way may just be your way, my way, our way, of parting ways with the old and telling the new to come on in.

how change can enhance you

I’ve been in the “change seat” many times in my life. These changes Included:

  • Moving from one environment to another
  • Skipping from one project to the next
  • Hopping from one idea to the next

I understand the importance of needing to do things in a different way to enhance the process.

But this mental process took time. Oh boy…

  • I had to take a step back
  • Look at where I’ve been and
  • See where I could go by accepting the new experiences.

Embracing change can be the difference between keeping a job you hate, to applying and being offered the job you love.

So change in itself, can typically put you in a position to advance your life. If you choose to embrace it and see it that way.

I hope this new process and system will make a better listening experience for my lovely creative souls who listen to my podcast. I hope this change will be reflected in my writing in a positive way and I have no doubt I will rise above the clouds of dismay to the occasion.

I challenge you to look at changes in your life as a gentle push in the direction you need to go to enhance your life.

How has change, changed you?

  • What type of change have you experienced that wasn’t easy to swallow in the beginning?
  • How did you respond to that request?
  • What did you learn from that process?

Let me know in the comment section. I am sure our Creative Soul Family would enjoy learning from you as well.

But its good to talk about it. And I’m human right. Even though, sometimes we as creators, may not seem like it.

Until the next time, my creative souls,

XOXO, TA STORYTELLER
