This week marks the reveal of The Shogan. I’ve begun ramping up my social media platforms to give everyone a look into the upcoming release. This has been a long time coming if I say so myself. From writing in the wee early hours to sometimes getting no sleep at all, I am happy to say, the release is making its way to the light soon.

Beyond the pages is a universe waiting to be explored! Sign up for between the scenes and book gems at http://www.tastoryteller.com

I know your wondering what is The Shogan and what does it have to do with The Adult Bedtime Stories for the Creative Soul Podcast?

Great questions.

This idea began about two or so years ago when I had a late night moment. My head was swarming with pictures and ideas of this young person that was caught between a feud that continued to grow.

I created the first episode, They Walked to the Moon, to tell the story of this young adult named Talorom, who was struggling to find herself in this world she was born into.

This name was such an enormous weight on her head, that she wanted to run from it, but running would only take her deeper into the grips of danger she didn’t know existed.

Episode one turned into episode two, as the pandemic hit and I found myself taking the much needed time to recoup with life, but I did not release Episode two. As I found my pen voice again in the middle of 2022, I released another episode and continued looking at ways to expand her story.

Honestly, I didn’t know people would enjoy it. But I am glad I continued writing. With this continued thought and writing process surrounding Talorum’s beginnings and her story, The Shogan was birthed.

Her journey is extraordinary; truly a work of art and I can’t wait to bring her story to life for you.

Now, as for my background in science fiction,

I am a big fan of old school science fiction including all of the Star Wars episodes. One of my most favorite episodes includes The Empire Strikes Back from the 1980s. I probably watched it in the 90s over a million and one times, but it was still so real and exciting to me. I know there are many critics of this movie, some think the acting was a bit off, but as a child that movie helped shape my love of science fiction from a movie stand point.

When it comes to books, I thoroughly enjoyed Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne, Where the Wild Things Grow by Maurice Sendak, Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein and the infamous, Edgar Allen Poe, with The Tell-Tale Heart.

These books helped me find my voice in the days when it was always told to me to be seen, but not heard. Ah, but I digress. That is for another time.

Thank you for taking the time to read with me, and I can’t wait to connect with you next time.

XOXO, TA Storyteller
